CHEER 101

Beginning Cheerleading Class
This cheerleading class is for youth and teens who want to learn competitive cheerleading but are not quite ready for the full commitment of a team. The skills learned in Cheer 101 cover the basics of cheerleading and routine work. Coaches train athletes on jumps, motions, basic tumbling, and stunting through the first part of the session. The second half of the session is spent implementing skills into a miniature routine which will be performed at Rec Rewards! Students who take Cheer 101 are very well prepared for tryouts for Competitive Prep, Competitive Cheer, and even High School Cheerleading!

PRE-FLIGHT
Kid’s Cheerleading Class( Stunting for ages 11 and under)
Pre-Flight is a class designed for the newest flyer in mind. Athletes learn basics of stunting, flexibility, body control, and air awareness. Flyers stunt on Peak’s Staff which provides a solid foundation of bases for optimal learning. Any athlete who takes Pre-Flight will be able to demonstrate flexibility, proper body positions, and have a strong foundation in stunt progressions. Experienced flyers are welcome to this class as well in order to maintain skills throughout the year.

HIGH SCHOOL PREP
Cheer Classes (Middle and High School age)
High School Prep is the perfect class for an athlete who is either new to or needs help with their high school cheer tryouts. This class focuses on all aspects of cheerleading; stunting, jumps, sideline cheers, dance, and tumbling. Instructors for this class are experienced with the high school world by either cheering for their own high schools or college teams. Throughout this class, athletes will be prepared for tryouts by being asked to take home material to learn and bring it back the following week to perform. This structure teaches students how cheer tryout clinics are held with most schools here in Colorado. The last two weeks of class, athletes will go through MOCK tryouts with their coaches and will be formally judged by them. Results and feedback will be given to each athlete in order to help them achieve their best. If an athlete is new, an emphasis on starting this class one to two years prior to the school tryout is strongly suggested. The success rate of athletes who have participated in this class has been very high with making high school teams!
